Going Digital

We finally entered the digital TV era! Our television is 17 years old (we got it for a couple hundred dollars at RC Willey with a teacher's bonus when we were first married!), but it still works. We just can't see buying a new TV, even though this old one leaves a lovely purple spot on every picture (years ago, Bryant thought a magnet did pretty cool things to the television!).

Anyway, we purchased a DVD Player/Recorder with a digital tuner, and now the pictures are more clear than ever before (except the purple spot!). But the thing we're most thrilled about is that we get to record our very favorite television program and watch it later WITHOUT the commercials (as soon as we figure out how to program the recorder).

As a family, we really enjoy watching Chuck. It's a dramatic comedy (mostly comedy) with the coolest nerd ever (Chuck)! It's on NBC on Monday nights. Now we can have longer Family Home Evenings and watch Chuck afterwards! This is the beginning of Season 2, and we had only seen a few episodes of Season 1. So we purchased the Season 1 DVDs, and now we're officially addicted. We've enjoyed loaning out the DVDs to our friends, who are also now addicted. And Jaret actually had a "Chuck" party last night with his friends, complete with Irresistable Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Skookies! We're even planning Halloween based on characters from this show!

  1. We'll have to check out this show. We don't have satellite or cable, but we can watch it online, hopefully!
